The valley is remembering a former union leader, logger and forestry politician who passed away in late December.
Roger Stanyer was the president of the local IWA 1-80 in the 1970s. It’s a union Cowichan Valley MLA Bill Routley was a part of and later took over as president when Stanyer went to work for the union at the national level. Routley remembers Stanyer as a man with great integrity. - Click here to veiw
